Shandon Hoobler

(KNZA)--A rural Horton man facing felony sex charges involving a child waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday.

26-year-old Shandon Hoobler was bound over to Brown County District Court for arraignment on November 17th on charges of electronic solicitation of a child and sexual exploitation of a child.

Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill says the alleged offenses took place between January 1st and May 16th of this year with a victim, identified only as a child born in 2002, who resides in Brown County.

Hoobler was arrested in May following an investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

He was found mentally competent to stand trial late last month, based on an evaluation conducted by Kanza Mental Health.

Hoobler remains in the Brown County Jail on one-million-dollars bond.
