(KAIR)--A little bit of Germany will be found in Atchison this weekend as the city gears up for its 33rd annual Oktoberfest event.
The Junior Guild is again sponsoring this year's event in which over 100 food and craft vendors will be present.
Organizational committee Chairperson Kim Bartlett says there will be shopping options and activities available for just about everyone. A variety of holiday shopping and activity options will be available for those who may want to get an early start to their holiday shopping.
Committee member Rita Hartman adds that there will be a wide range of entertainment options available as well including the Raven Dance Team, The Atchison High School Choir, the Atchison Jazz Express, Jim Dixon and Lois Reed, as well as Gary Myer and Chris Wilderson.
Food, including bratwurst, German potato salad, apple dumplings, popcorn, and cupcakes will also be available.
Oktoberfest will take place Saturday from 10:00am-5:00pm on Atchison's Downtown Mall located on Commercial Street. All stores will be open for business during the event.
Proceeds will be donated to local charities including the Red Cross and Salvation Army.
