Holton USD 336 Buys Fair Building
(KNZA)--The Holton school district has purchased the Jackson County Fair building.
Following an executive session during a special meeting this week, the USD 336 Board of Education approved the purchase of the building and five plots of land owned by the Jackson County Fair Association for a total of $255,000.
The Holton Recorder reports the school district plans to convert the building, located across from the soon-to-be-built Colorado Elementary School, into a bus storage facility.
It’s the second parcel of land sold by the Fair Association. The first was the land where the fair’s livestock barns stood until a few weeks ago. That land is now the future site of Holton’s second Casey’s General Store.
