(KAIR)--A Saturday evening Atchison County crash sends one to the hospital.
Sheriff Jack Laurie says it happened when 24-year-old Mayetta resident Brian Harding was behind the wheel of a pick-up truck, eastbound on K-116.
16-year-old Jacob Hastings, of Hoyt, had stopped his southbound pick-up at a stop sign on Edwards Road, at Effingham. When he drove forward, crossing the highway, he struck Harding's vehicle in the driver's side rear tire, causing Harding to lose control. Harding's truck then went into the eastbound ditch and rolled over, causing him to be ejected.
He was flown from the scene by LifeNet to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Hastings was not hurt.
Laurie says his department was assisted by Atchison County Rescue, EMS and the Effingham Fire Department.
The wreck happened shortly after 6:30 Saturday evening.
