(KLZA)-- The Humboldt – Table Rock – Steinauer School Board heard a presentation from Activities Director Matt Merzger Monday night about his job duties. Mezger explained the process of scheduling things such as uniform purchases for various sports and such.
Mezger also was present for the discussion on the building of long jump and triple jump runways at Power Memorial Field in Humboldt and the purchase of a wrestling mat. The purchase of the mat is expected to be in the neighborhood of $8,000. HTRS is hopeful of working with a company to purchase a mat used during the state wrestling tournament and then picking it up in Omaha at a reduced price.
Board members also discussed the upcoming October 21st meeting when Nebraska Association of School Board members will be in Humboldt to meet with patrons, teachers, administrators and students concerning the search for a new Superintendent to replace Clint Kimbrough who is retiring at the end of the current school year.
Discussion was held concerning the purchase of a bus and a new mower. Both purchases are expected to be approved during the November board meeting.
Superintendent Kimbrough noted the meeting date for the HTRS School Foundation has been pushed back to October 29th. During the meeting the Foundation will present a check in the amount of $200,000 to be used toward the building addition at the Humboldt site.
