(KLZA)-- One of the hotly contested races in Southeast Nebraska for the November 4th General Election is for the District 5 seat on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents.

Schafer, a Pawnee County native is at attorney in Beatrice who is also active in agriculture in Pawnee County. He says it is important Regent members understand agriculture. Schafer noted a need for the Board of Regents to keep the University focused on agriculture.
MSCNEWS asked Schafer to explain why he is the best candidate for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. Schafer said he is raising a young family and having perspective from someone saving money for their children’s education is important. He also noted his military background and the importance of supporting education for Veterans.
