(KNZA)--Local Kansas County voters went to the polls Tuesday to decide 1st District County Commission Leadership.
In Atchison County, incumbent Republican Jeff Schuele retained the position, defeating Democratic challenger Charlie Perdue.
Voters made their decision known by retaining the current County Commission Chairman on a vote of 548 to 517.
Republican Timothy Collins is the new 1st District County Commissioner for Doniphan County.
Voters Tuesday showed their support by voting down his Democratic challenger Brett Niebling 594 to 247.
The Seat is currently held by David Van Laar, who did not seek re-election.
Jackson County voters have selected a new Commissioner for the 1st District seat.
With 41% of the vote, Republican Rod Ladner defeats Democratic incumbent Ed Kathrens on a vote of 866 to 825.
All votes remain unofficial until canvassed Monday by their respective County Commissions.
