Richardson County Election Results

(KLZA)-- Jerry Oliver has been elected to be the next Mayor of Falls City. The current Ward I Council member received 630 votes Tuesday. Charlie Bentley received 556 votes.

In the Ward III Council race incumbent Kirby Robidoux was defeated by challenger John Vaughn 137-113.

In the Ward II Council race incumbent Judy Murphy was re-elected with 190 votes. Write-in candidate James Liming received 50 votes.

In Ward I, Don Ferguson will be elected. He filed to run as a write-in candidate.

24 write-in votes were cast in Ward IV in Falls City. However, no one filed to seek the position as a write-in candidate.  The votes cast will be reviewed by the Canvassing Board. 

For the District 56 School Board there were two elections. The two-year term on the Board won by June Bowers with 923 votes to 773 for Tedd Gilkerson.  For the 4- year term incumbents Scott Huppert with 1055 votes and John Martin with 976 votes were re-elected. Richard Malcolm was also elected to the District 56 Board with 917 votes. Randy Sickel received 886 and Terry Lotter received 835. 

All three incumbents were re-elected to the Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer School Board. Scott Ogle had 811 votes, Steve Schaardt 790, Neal Kanel 787. Todd Binder received 525 votes. 

Elected to Village Boards in Richardson County were:

Scott Handley and Carolyn Meckstroth in Barada;

Bill Koch, Roger Goos and write-in Janis Richardson in Dawson.  

Rulo, Norman Thompson, write-in candidate Quincy Smith and James Coonce. Only two votes separate the third and fourth place finishers.  Coonce had 20 votes and Kevin Barber receive 18.

Salem, Jon Kean and Casey Strauch.

Stella, Jim Owings and Jerry Joy. 

Shbuert, Peggy Oliver and Linda Patchen who was a write-in candidate.

Voter turnout in Richardson County was 44 percent.
