Royals Executive To Deliver Benedictine College Commencement Address
(KAIR)--Kansas City Royals Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Dayton Moore will deliver the Commencement Address at Benedictine College this coming spring.
The announcement was made Tuesday at Kauffman Stadium, prior to Moore's address to visiting Benedictine students in the Leadership and Organizational Change class.
Benedictine President Stephen Minnis, who also teaches the leadership class, said that the school enjoys a good relationship with the Royals organization, and Moore will be an excellent commencement speaker.
Moore, a Wichita native, brought an impressive resume to the Royals in 2006. He previously worked for the Atlanta Braves since 1994, moving up to Assistant General Manager with that organization.
Under his leadership, the Royals won 86 games in 2013, then went on to make an appearance in the World Series in 2014. He joins some notable company at Benedictine, which includes past speakers Bob Hope, Lou Holtz. Father Flanagan, Governor Sam Brownback, Bob and Elizabeth Dole, Dick Vermeil, Representative Paul Ryan, and Erma Bombeck.
Benedictine's Commencement is scheduled to take place on May 16th.
