Benedictine Basketball To Hold Toys For Tots Night
12/03/2014

(KAIR)--Benedictine College will be hosting a basketball doubleheader Thursday evening with both the Ravens and Lady Ravens taking on Peru State in the home conference opener for both teams. In addition to what promises to be an exciting night of basketball, the event will also help local children have a merry Christmas.

Raven Men's Head Basketball Coach Ryan Moody says that anyone who brings an unwrapped and unopened toy to the game, will receive free admission. All of those toys are then donated to the Salvation Army in Atchison and will go directly to children in the community.

Moody adds that this is something that he and his wife brought with them from the University of North Dakota. He says that “Ever since we have been together, we have held and annual Toys For Tots party for our friends....and encouraged everyone to bring a toy. We decided to take it to the next level and kinda carry it over to a basketball game...it has been successful, we have really enjoyed doing it”.

Both games will take place at the Nolan Gymnasium, located on the Benedictine campus. The women's game will start at 5:30, and the men will tip off at 7:30.
