City of Atchison Pay Raises Approved
12/16/2014

(KAIR)--It's good news for City of Atchison employees, following the approval of a 2.1 percent cost of living increase.

The pay raise, approved by the Atchison City Commission Monday, was included in the previously approved 2015 budget, with the Commission setting aside nearly $90,000 to make it happen.

However, the increase does not affect employees of public works or utilities immediately.

Instead, a first ever Pilot Merit Pay Program has been implemented for those departments. Pay grades for employees will be based on the director's recommended pay adjustments.

City Manager Trey Cocking outlined the plan to the Commission Monday, explaining that he will not receive a pay increase as part of the change.
