(KAIR)--The Board of Directors of MGP Ingredients will have a familiar face as their Chairperson.
The Atchison based company announced Monday that Karen Seaberg has been elected to the position, effective immediately. In chairing the board, Seaberg succeeds her father, Cloud “Bud” Cray who served as Chair for the past year, as well as from 1980 to 2005. Cray will retain a position on the Board.
Cray says that his daughter possesses a solid understanding of MGP's business and has shown her strong leadership skills on many fronts.
Seaberg became a director of MGP in 2009, filling the vacancy that was created when her husband, Ladd Seaberg retired. Her professional background includes over twenty years as an executive travel agent. She is also co owner of a local Long John Silver's franchise.
Seaberg says that she is deeply grateful for the faith placed in her by her fellow directors, and that her strong connection to the company will only increase her desire and determination to do what is right for everyone connected to the company.
Seaberg is the first female elected to serve as Board Chair at MGP.
