Unemployment Up In NEK Counties

(KAIR)--Unemployment was up in area northeast Kansas counties in November compared to October.

Nemaha county had the lowest jobless rate at 2.4 percent, while Leavenworth county had the highest at 4.7 percent.

Elsewhere, Atchison county's unemployment rate in November stood at 4.6 percent; Brown, 3.6 percent; Doniphan, 3.8 percent; Jackson, 4.1 percent; Jefferson, 4.5 percent; Marshall, 2.8 percent; and Pottawatomie, 3.5 percent.

Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in November was 4.3 percent, down from 4.4 percent in October, and 5 percent in November 2013.
