(KAIR)--A continuance has been granted in the case of an Atchison man accused of drug possession and theft.
32-year-old Thomas Lackey appeared in Atchison County District Court Friday morning, where Judge Martin Asher set a new court day for January 23rd following a request from Lackey's attorney.
Lackey was arrested earlier this month when an officer with the Atchison Police Department stopped him near the intersection of Sixth Street and Ravenhill Road for failing to dim his headlights. Upon further investigation, the officer discovered what appeared to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, along with several items that were later determined to have been allegedly taken from Walmart minutes before the stop.
