(KAIR)--An Atchison man, convicted of possession of methamphetamine, has been sentenced to twenty months in prison.
40-year-old Robert Ford was handed the sentence Friday morning in Atchison County District Court. Following his release, he will be placed on one year of supervised probation.
Ford had plead guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine last month. In exchange for his plea, four other counts, including possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of oxycodone, possession of morphine, and possession of marijuana were dropped.
He was arrested in November after officers with the Atchison Police Department stopped him for speeding on a motorcycle in the 700 block of Kearney. Upon further investigation, officers discovered what appeared to be methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in his possession.
