(KNZA)--A series of recommendations regarding the billing and collection practices of Mosaic Life Care are made public.
That happened Tuesday by a task force that reviewed the matter.
The Board of Trustees for the Saint Joseph, Missouri based hospital began the review following an investigation by National Public Radio that found Mosaic's debt collection company garnished the wages of around 6,000 people from 2009 to 2013. The national report also claimed the hospital charges a maximum nine percent interest rate.
KQ2-TV reports the task force is recommending that Mosaic focus on expanding services for the “poor and powerless,” while the Board of Trustees also adopted a list of recommendations.
Four teams, comprised of community members and internal caregivers, will oversee the implementation of the recommendations.
