(KNZA)--A Horton man facing child sex charges in two counties waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday morning in Brown County.
Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill says 20-year-old Dallas Bond was bound over to Brown County District Court on five felony counts—aggravated kidnapping, electronic solicitation of a child, sexual exploitation of a child, identity fraud and felony theft.
Arraignment was set for April 6th before District Judge John Weingart.
Bond is charged in connection with alleged sex offenses involving a child born in 2003. He’s also accused of stealing several items belonging to the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, where he formerly worked as a dispatcher.
Bond also face six felony counts—including rape—in Jackson County involving the same child. A preliminary hearing in the Jackson County case is set for Thursday morning.
Authorities says Bond allegedly took the child, under false pretenses, to a Holton motel room last August where sexual offenses were committed.
He remains in the Jackson County Jail, held on $750,000 bond in the Brown County case and $100,000 in the Jackson County case.
