(KNZA)--The arraignment for a Horton man facing child sex charges in two counties was continued in Brown County Monday morning.
20-year-old Dallas Bond faces five felony counts in Brown County---aggravated kidnapping, electronic solicitation of a child, sexual exploitation of a child, identity fraud and felony theft.
His court-appointed attorney, Bill McQuillan, requested the continuance to allow more time for plea negotiations. The arraignment was rescheduled for May 4th.
District Judge John Weingart also denied a request for a Bond modification in the case.
Bond is charged in connection with alleged sex offenses involving a child born 2003. He’s also accused of stealing several items belonging to the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, where he formerly worked as a dispatcher.
Bond also faces six felony counts in Jackson County involving the same child. He pleaded not guilty last month to the Jackson County charges. A pre-trial conference is set for April 24th.
Bond remains in the Jackson County Jail, held on $750,000 bond in the Brown County case and $100,000 in the Jackson County case.
