(KNZA)--A Hoyt man has been arrested for alleged sex crimes with a Jackson County child under the age of 14.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says 49-year-old Leon Holloway was arrested Saturday on a Jackson County District warrant issued as a result of an investigation by the sheriff’s department.
Holloway is charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and attempted rape. The crimes are alleged to have occurred between April, 2012 and March of this year in the city of Hoyt.
Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at Holloway’s residence on April 28th in connection with the allegations.
Morse says the Osage County Sheriff's Office assisted with the apprehension of Holloway from a residence where he had been staying near Quenemo, Kansas.
Holloway remains in the Jackson County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
