(KNZA)--A Hiawatha teen convicted on charges in two Hiawatha business burglaries and an attempted burglary last November has been placed on probation.
Dalton Herwig was given a suspended prison sentence Monday in Brown County District Court on six counts and placed on 24 months probation. He was also ordered to pay a total of more than 15-hundred restitution.
Herwig pleaded no contest in May to two counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary and three counts of criminal damage to property. In exchange for the plea, three additional charges were dismissed.
Herwig was convicted of breaking into Davies Oil and Nigus Liquor and attempting to break into Henry Liquor late last November.
Two juveniles were also charged in the case.
