(KAIR)--Atchison Taxi and Courier, a familiar sight in the Atchison community for the past three years, is scheduled to close next week.
Owner Kristin Eichelberger says she will close on June 11th, but is looking for a buyer for the company so business can continue.
She says that she had her reasons for deciding to sell the service. She says that “when I started, it was so I could have some flexible time and I was caring for my father, so obviously that was kind of my important goal there is to be able to be there for him. He has since moved to a nursing home and my biggest reason is, it's sure not the lack of need, because there is a need here in this town, in town and for out of town services. It's more or less income based, needing to be a little higher.”
Eichelberger adds that if a buyer is found, she expects a seamless transition to the new ownership. She says its pretty much a turnkey operation and it would literally be a transferred ownership.
Eichelberger says the company will still be for sale after June 11th,
