Falls City Man Arrested For Allegedly Trying to Run Down Pedestrian
06/03/2015

(KLZA)-- A Falls City man is facing a number of charges following his Tuesday night arrest in connection with driving recklessly, and allegedly attempting to run down a pedestrian.

33-year-old Matthew Hanesworth is facing charges including terroristic threat, third degree assault, disturbing the peace, and willful reckless driving.

A pedestrian, identified as Robert Sanders, told police he and another person were walking in an alley, located in the 1000 block between Stone and Harlan Streets. Sanders says it was there that Hanesworth attempted to run him over. Police had responded to the area around 8:30 following a report of a hit and run.

Other eyewitnesses confirmed to police Hanesworth was driving erratically and drove away after striking a building in the alley.

Hanesworth was located by police, and, despite his denial of trying to run down Sanders, was arrested and booked into the Richardson County Jail.
