(KLZA)-- Weather conditions contributed to a pair of wrecks Thursday on Interstate 29 in Northwest, Missouri.

About 3:15 p-m a southbound Mercury Milan was totaled when in hydroplaned and crossed from the passing lane into the driving lane, went off the west side of the Interstate and struck a tree. 23-year old Ryndi Roth of Omaha suffered moderate injuries in the wreck and was transported by the Atchison-Holt Ambulance Squad to the George grape Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa.  The wreck occurred approximately six miles south of Watson.

The Atchison County, Missouri Sheriff’s Office assisted the Missouri State Patrol at the scene.

Shortly past 6 p-m a southbound semi-truck and trailer driven by 52-yar old Charles Brooks of Ashley, Illinois suffered extensive damage in a crash three miles north of Craig.

Brooks was southbound on I-29 when high winds caused the trailer to overturn on the Interstate.  The tractor traveled off the east side of I-29 and overturned. The tractor and trailer came to rest on the drivers side in the median of I-29.

Charles Brooks was transported by the Atchison-Holt Ambulance Squad to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment of moderate injuries.

The Holt County Sheriff’s Office, Mound City Police Department and Craig and Mound City Fire Departments responded to the call to assist the Missouri Highway Patrol.
