(KNZA)--County fair season has arrived, with Horton the destination this week as the annual Brown County 4-H Free Fair gets under way.
The judging and sale of food will help usher in the event this morning starting at 8:00, along with an ice cream social from 6 to 8:00 this evening.
Tomorrow, the fair kicks into high gear, complete with the rabbit show at 9:00, and the evening parade, through downtown Horton, getting underway at 6:30.
On Wednesday, fair events will include the swine show at 8:30, bucket calf and beef events beginning at 3:30 and a tractor pull at 7:00 Wednesday evening.
Thursday will include a pet show at 10:00, a livestock contest at 1:00 and a Travis Marvin country music concert beginning at 8:00 at the fairgrounds.
The Brown County Fair will conclude Friday night with the 7:30 livestock sale.
Each evening, from Tuesday through Thursday, the midway will be alive with carnival rides and related attractions, as local residents enjoy the sights and sounds of the annual fair.
