(KAIR)--A Liberty, Missouri man, facing burglary and drug related charges in Atchison, has been sentenced to over two years in prison for the crimes.
33-year-old Jonathan Hammer was sentenced Friday in Atchison County District Court, to 27 months in prison on a charge of Burglary of a Dwelling. In addition, he was sentenced to six months in jail on a charge of criminal damage to property, twelve months in jail on a charge of interfering with a law enforcement officer, one year in jail on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, and six months in jail for driving while suspended. All sentences were ordered to be served concurrently.
After his release, Hammer will be placed on one year of supervised probation. He was also ordered to pay a $210 fine and restitution of $1,000.
Hammer was arrested last month after allegedly taking part in a residential burglary and leading police on a short foot pursuit after a traffic stop the next day. Police found what appeared to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle Hammer was driving before the chase started.
