(KAIR)--St. Benedict's Abbey has announced that Abbot James Albers has resumed his leadership of the Abbey, following the completion of an external investigation of an allegation.
The Abbey, in a statement released Tuesday on kansasmonks.org, said no other allegations came forth during the investigation, which focused on an allegation dating back to when Abbot Albers himself was a minor.
Abbot Albers' priestly facilities, and ability to publicly exercise his ministry in the Archdiocese of Kansas City have been restored.
Abbot Albers took a voluntary administrative leave last month after the allegation came forth. He is the ninth Abbot of St. Benedict's Abbey, and has served in that role since 2012.
