(KAIR)--Two Burlington Northern train cars, parked on siding track in Buchanan County's Armour, Missouri, five miles outside of Atchison, are undamaged after a report that they were smoldering.
Burlington Northern spokesman Andy Williams says another train noticed the smoldering cars as it passed by them early Wednesday morning. Fire crews were called, and the smoldering was quickly doused. No flames were present.
Williams says the cars contained scrap metal and other debris, but no hazardous materials.
The cause of the smolder is unknown at this time.
