(KAIR)--The Atchison dog park is starting to take shape.
City Public Works and Utilities Director Justin Pregont presented the bid from Kansas Fencing Incorporated to supply the fencing and other related materials for the park at a cost of approximately $11,000 to Commissioners during a meeting earlier this week. Pregont also requested an additional $750 to cover any unexpected changes.
Commissioners approved the bid on a 4-1 vote, with Commissioner Charlie Perdue casting the lone no vote.
Pregont says construction on the park, which is scheduled to be located at the intersection of Fourteenth and Laramie, could be completed by late summer or early fall of this year.
