Suspect Sought in Falls City Shooting

(Falls City, Neb.)-- The search continues for a Falls City man suspected of shooting another Falls City man early Wednesday morning.

34-year-old Desiderio Hernandez is accused of shooting 31-year-old Joseph Debella Jr.

Falls City police responded to a residence at 1418 Morton Street just before 1 a.m. where they found Debella suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was flown to a  Lincoln hospital with critical injuries.

The Nebraska State Patrol says an arrest warrant was issued for Hernandez following the shooting. 

He's  described as an Hispanic male with brown hair, brown eyes, standing 5’9”, weighing approximately 175 pounds.  Hernandez was last seen wearing a brown plaid shirt and brown shorts. He isn't believed to be armed, but should be considered dangerous.

In 2013, Hernandez was sentenced to intensive supervised probation and a work ethic camp in Richardson County District Court on a felony charge of assault in the second degree.  In that case, Hernendez was originally charged with attempted 2nd degree murder for cutting the throat of another man in Falls City.
