Atchison Co EMS Building Project Moves Forward
08/05/2015

(KAIR)--The Atchison County Commission is moving forward with plans to construct a new EMS facility just outside of the city.

Commission Chair Bill Pohl says that County Emergency Management Director Wes Lanter presented the Commission with plans for the project during a meeting last week. He said that “we got the drawings back from Riverbend Architectural in St. Joseph...when he and Wes sat down and Wes kinda told him what he needed. So...those are approved, and he was going to start meeting with some contractors to start bidding it out.”

Pohl says that construction bids should be going out sometime this week.

The Commission approved the sale of the property for the facility in April, with county staff members estimating a cost of approximately $60,000 to refurbish the buildings current of site for use by the EMS service.
