(KLZA)-- Falls City will come alive this weekend, with the annual Cobblestone Festival set to begin Thursday evening with the annual Firemen’s Fishing Contest at Stanton Lake at 5 p-m.
The Cobblestone Parade will begin at 11 a-m Saturday going south from 20th Street to 14th Street on Harlan Street, which is U-S Highway 73. Parade Director Lori Gottula has announced the 2015 Grand Marshals, with Ed and Sandra Hartman selected for the honor.
Other Cobblestone events this weekend include:
Friday 6-10 p-m wristband for the Sams Amusements carnival rides. The Falls City Chamber of Commerce Prize Give Away is scheduled for 8 p-m at 17th and Stone with the 50-inch flat screen television as a grand prize and two second place prizes of baskets full of gift certificates. 8:45 p-m or dark the movie “Blended” will be show at the Courthouse Lawn.
Saturday – Community Medical Center fun Run at 7 a-m beginning at Stanton Lake Park. All proceeds raised by the Fun Run will go to the Falls City Volunteer Ambulance Squad.
The Car Show begins at 9 a-m at 18th and Stone Street. 9 a-m - Frog Jumping Contest at 1700 Stone; 9:45 a-m Little Mr. & Miss Cobblestone Crowned at 17th and Stone. 10:15 a-m - Bagpipe concert at 1st Presbyterian Church at 20th & Harlan. 11 a-m Cobblestone Parade:
1 p-m McCoy Dancers – 17th and Stone; 1 p-m Lifenet Helicopter on display at 14th and Chase; 1 p-m Carnival opens; 1:30 p-m Dodge Ball tournament begins at Prichard Auditorium; 6 p-m Price Is Right Game; 17th & Stone; 6:15 p-m Frozen T-Shirt contest; 7 p-m Knowledge Challenge at 17th and Stone; 9 p-m Beer Garden and Street Dance at Elk’s Lodge. 8:45 p-m or dark the movie “Big Heron 6” will be shown on the Courthouse lawn.
SUNDAY: 1 p-m Little Tuggers Pedal Tractor Pull; 3 p-m Family Feud at 1700 Stone Street; 1 – 5 p-m Carnival rides open; 6:30 p-m – Vespers Service at 1st Christian Church.
