(KNZA)--A Hiawatha man is facing a felony charge for allegedly harboring another Hiawatha man sought by police on an aggravated battery charge.
55-year-old John Speckhals was arrested last Thursday by the Hiawatha Police Department on a Brown County warrant for obstructing apprehension.
Speckhals is accused of obstructing in the apprehension of 26-year-old Michael McCann. McCann was arrested at Speckhals residence August 15th. He had been sought by police in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident of aggravated battery early this month.
A preliminary hearing for Speckhals is set for Wednesday. He is currently free on a $25,000 O.R. bond.
McCann remains in the Brown County Jail on a $75,000 bond, and is also scheduled for a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
