(MSC News)-- Former Richardson County Sheriff Randy Houser has resigned from his position as Interim Hall County Corrections Director.
According to The Grand Island Independent, Houser submitted his resignation by email Wednesday to Hall County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf. No reason was given for the resignation, noting only that it was effective 5:30 p-m Wednesday.
According to the newspaper, Zitterkopf and Houser met Wednesday with Hall County Supervisor Pam Lancaster, to review an anonymous letter county supervisors received questioning Houser’s tenure as Richardson County Sheriff from 2012-15. The letter also raised questions about Houser’s philosophy on jail management given that his son is incarcerated in Arizona on first-degree murder charges.
Houser was hired by the Hall County Board of Supervisors August 26th to serve as interim jail director while the board conducted a national search for a permanent director.
