KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Federal regulators are investigating the serious injury of a 43-year-old service technician who was hurt while testing electrical parts for a St. Joseph business.
The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration office in Kansas City says the man was hurt Wednesday while working at a commercial facility for Greg’s Appliance Mart and was being treated for life-threatening injuries.
OSHA spokeswoman Barbara Theriot says the agency is trying to determine whether any safety regulation violations contributed to the accident.
OSHA says its electrical standards are designed to protect workers exposed to such dangers as electric shock, electrocution, fires and explosions.
