Boat Capsizes, Atchison Man Escapes Injury
09/14/2015

(KAIR)--An Atchison man escapes injury after capsizing his boat in the Missouri River Saturday morning.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened around 9:45 when 48-year-old James Pyle anchored his boat to shore in Platte County. Pyle was attempting to maneuver the boat into the current when he slipped and hit the throttle. That caused the boat to run aground, turn portside, and ultimately capsize.

The boat, which incurred moderate damage, was secured by the Patrol.
