(KNZA)--Formal charges have been filed against a Kansas City, Kansas man in connection with the circulation of counterfeit money in the city of Hiawatha.
31-year-old Jeffrey Kosman made his first appearance in a Brown County courtroom Monday afternoon on three felony counts of making false information, along with misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A preliminary hearing was set for September 23rd.
Kosman was arrested Friday evening after police took a report of a counterfeit $20 bill at a local bar.
The arrest follows a Hiawatha Police Department investigation into a rash of counterfeit $10 and $20 bills circulating through local businesses.
Kosman remains in the Brown County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
