(KNZA)--The dates for two Hiawatha Halloween traditions have been set.
On the recommendation of the Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce, the City Commission Monday evening approved designating the evening of Friday, October 30th as “ Treat or Treat” night in Hiawatha. The event will be held on only one night this year instead of two as in the past.
Chamber Administrator Eric Thompson said the business trick or treat and Trunk or Treat event will take place that afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30.
Also the Commission approved plans to hold the annual Halloween Frolic on Saturday, October 31st, with the kiddie parade at 3:00 in the afternoon and grand parade at 7:00 in the evening.
The Halloween Frolic has been held annually in Hiawatha on or around October 31st since 1914.
