Changes Possible For Atchison Co EMS

(KAIR)--Organizational changes could be on the way for the Atchison County EMS service.

That, according to Commission Chair Bill Pohl, who says representatives from Techs Inc., the company that provides EMS service to the county, met with Commissioners Tuesday. During that time, they discussed the potential changes, which, Pohl says, could involve the services' vehicles. “We are probably going to do away with the Par Car service. We are going to maintain the Par Car, but we are going to add another employee and have three fully staffed ambulances...and we already have the ambulance. Instead of using the Par Car and sending one person out...a lot of people did not understand, including me, why send out an ambulance and send out a Par Car to the same location when the Par Car really can't do nothing.”

Pohl says that he feels that another fully staffed ambulance would improve the service.
