(KLZA)-- The Nemaha Natural Resources District Board has approved negotiating a contract with HDR Inc. to complete a design for a sediment basin at Kirkman’s Cove Recreation Area northwest of Humboldt.
The existing sediment basin above the 160-acre lake is at its capacity, and the plan is to eventually construct a new basin with greater capacity.
In other action the Nemaha NRD Board authorized NRD Manager Bob Hilske to sign an easement with OPPD to allow a power line to cross the Steamboat Trace south of Brownville. The lien appears to have been in place for a number of years without an easement.
