Auburn Schools To Host Community Meetings
10/20/2015

Kevin Reiman, Superintendent Auburn Public Schools

(KLZA)-- The public is invited to take part in a community discussion in Auburn at the High School beginning at 6 p-m on Monday, November 9th.

Superintendent Kevin Reiman says the Auburn School Board feels it important to make sure the Board is hearing the needs of the community. Reiman says so much time is spent working on academic goals and standards coming from the state and federal level, it is important to stay in touch with the communities needs.

Marcia Herring with the Nebraska Association of School Boards will conduct a community engagement meeting that will allow anyone interested in helping make the school better, come in and provide input.

The program will help find out where the community feels the school districts strength and weaknesses are, and help develop a strategic plan for the next 5 – 10 years.

Four different meetings will take place during the day. An

Early childhood meeting will take place at Calvert Elementary School from 10:30 a-m until noon.  At 11:30 a-m a program for Chamber members and businesses will be held at Arbor Manor to allow their insights and in the afternoon Herring will meet with High School students to find out what their feelings and ideas are. At 6 p-m the public is invited to the Auburn High School to provide input.

Superintendent Kevin Reiman said Nebraska Educational Television will be taping the program as part of documentary of education reforms.
