(KLZA)-- Area residents are invited to celebrate the 95th annual homecoming at Peru State College on Saturday.

Fall Harvest is the theme of the celebration. Peru State President Dan Hanson calls Homecoming an opportunity to celebrate the beginning of another successful year and thank southeast Nebraska for the unwavering support for the institution and students.

A ribbon cutting for the new City and Campus entrance will be part of the celebration as well as the renovation of TJ Majors Hall.

Nebraska’s Toughest Mile will be run at 8:30 a-m beginning in downtown Peru.  The Homecoming parade will begin at 10 a-m downtown. The tailgate and carnival start at 11 a-m at the Campus Quad.  The Peru State Jazz Band will entertain the crowd on the steps of the Jindra Fine Arts Building.  If the weather does not cooperate the tailgate will be held in the Student Center.

The ribbon cutting for the new city and campus entrance and renovated TJ Majors Hall will be held at 1 p-m and at 2 p-m the Bobcat football team will host Graceland University in the Oak Bowl.  The coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen will be at halftime of the football game.  At 7 p-m Saturday night the Bobcat Volleyball team will host York at the Al Wheeler Activity Center. It will be Senior Recognition Night.
