Atchison Halloween Parade a Success
11/02/2015

(KAIR)--The Atchison Kiwanis Club held their annual Halloween Parade Saturday afternoon, with forty-six total entries taking part in the event.

Parade emcee Paul Komarek says the parade featured several special guests including the four Atchison teachers who have been inducted into the Kansas Teacher's Hall of Fame. Dr. Rod Hefley, Mrs. Liz Anthony, Mrs. Kathy Hines, and Mrs. Karen Glennon all served as parade Grand Marshalls. Sierra Bass, winner of the citizen essay contest, rode on the Kiwanis Club float.

Prizes were awarded for the top three parade entries. Komarek says that Doggy Do Kennel and Cuts came in third place, the Banks family float came in second, and in first place, the First Steps Childhood Learning Center.

Komarek also wanted to thank Dr. David Myers and the parade planning committee for all of the hard work that was put into making the parade possible.
