(MSC News)--A Kansas Most Wanted man, accused of going on the run with his 12-year-old son, is now in custody.
The arrest of Stephen Drake Jr. happened Tuesday morning.
According to WIBW-TV, Drake was arrested near the Douglas and Shawnee County line, north of Big Springs.
KSNT-TV reports that Tuesday's arrest followed a vehicle pursuit that Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig tells the TV station lasted less than a half-hour. Both Drake and his son were taken to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office after Drake was arrested without incident.
The KBI, Kansas Highway patrol, Lawrence Police and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office assisted Jefferson County authorities in the pursuit that ended on a rural road.
Drake, the non-custodial father of Andrew Drake, was wanted for aggravated assault, aggravated interference with parental custody, and child endangerment.
Around 5:00 Tuesday morning, Drake was located in Topeka, and confronted by authorities. However, he and Andrew escaped prior to the arrest being made hours later.
