Food Service Training Scheduled for Falls City Program

(KLZA)-- Training sessions for those wanting to volunteer for the Summer Food Service Program in Falls City will be held Wednesday, May 11th and Wednesday, May 18th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 20th and Towle Streets in Falls City. The training sessions begin at 6 p-m.

The program offers free lunch to children 18 and under each weekday in June and July. 

Volunteers are needed to cook, serve food and supervise the kids. The program is administered by the USDA and Nebraska Department of Education and is sponsored by the Falls City Ministerial Association. 

The State of Nebraska requires that volunteers attend one of the training sessions.

Volunteers are asked to help out one or two days a week, for 1-3 hours per day. The doors open at 11:45 a-m each day with lunch served from noon until 12:45 p-m.

No registration is required. Children 3 and younger must be able to eat regular children’s food and be under the supervision of their caregiver.
