It was an impressive display on the mats by the Holton this past weekend as they came away with the Burlington Invitational title and a multitude of stellar individual performances. Wildcats as a team finished with 247.50 total team points with the closes team to the Wildcats finishing nine points behind them, as took first place overall in the tournament that featured 14 teams.
Holton’s team performance was lead by the three first place individual finishes it had for three of its wrestlers. Junior’s, Hunter Price and Jacob Ewing both won their weight classes, 113lbs and 160lbs, respectively. While sophomore, Andrew Rieschick went undefeated on the day to notch a first place finish in the 152lb weight class. Price sits at 13-1 overall on the season with his undefeated day at the Burlington tournament, while his teammates Ewing and Rieschick sit at 13-4 and 14-2 overall on the season, respectively.
The Wildcats had plenty of other top performers as well in tournament with two second place finisher’s (Freshman, Lucas Lovvom—126lbs & Sophomore, Cooper Zeller 285lbs), four third place finisher’s (Sophomore, Jonah Lutz—106lbs; Freshman, Jordan Booth—113lbs; Sophomore, Lane Lassiter—132lbs; Sophomore, Bradley Hooper—220lbs), two fourth place finisher’s (Freshman, Mason Baum—145lbs; Sophomore, Drake Ewing—195lbs) and two fifth place finisher’s (Senior, Justin Twombly—120lbs & Senior, Adam McKenna—182lbs).
