Lancaster cleared of boil water advisory; Doniphan Co RWD 3 remains affected
(KAIR)--The City of Lancaster is no longer under a boil water advisory, with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Wednesday morning, saying it has been rescinded.
However, the release from the state health agency says Doniphan County Rural Water District #3 remains under the advisory, still in effect until further notice.
Lancaster was released from the order because collected drinking water samples showed no evidence of contamination following laboratory testing.
The advisory was issued because of a waterline break at Atchison Co RWD 5C resulting in a loss of pressure in the distribution system, as failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and to bacterial contamination.
