A Sabetha teenager convicted on charges stemming from a physical altercation last December that sent a Sabetha resident to the hospital will serve 60 days in jail.
Gunner Werner was sentenced Thursday in Nemaha County District Court on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated intimidation of a witness.
After serving the jail time, Werner will be placed on 36 months probation. As part of the terms of his probation, he must attend substance abuse treatment.
Werner pleaded guilty to the charges in March as part of a plea agreement. In exchange for the plea, two other felony charges were dismissed.
The sentencing for co-defendant, Dalton Fletcher of Sabetha, was postponed Thursday to May 24th.
Fletcher pleaded no contest last month to a charge of aggravated burglary. In exchange for the plea three additional counts were dismissed.
The pair were charged with entering the home of Ryan Lemons on December 9th without his consent, and attacking him.
Lemons was transported to the Sabetha Community Hospital with injuries to his face and head.
