One candidate seeking election to the Kansas House of Representatives is expressing his disappointment in the final decision reached for state redistricting.
He is Holton Businessman Dan Brenner, one of three Republicans now seeking election to the newly realigned 61st District of Kansas.
Changes approved by Federal Judges means two House incumbents, Trent LeDoux, of Holton, and Richard Carlson, of Saint Marys, will face off in the primary, challenged by Brenner.
The race between LeDoux, and Brenner was previously for the 50th district, but that changed when redistricting was finalized. Doctor David Allen, of Soldier, had originally entered that race, prior to dropping out of the 61st District challenge yesterday.

Brenner says the changes likely would not have been as drastic should the Kansas Legislature, during their past session, been able to work out differences to complete the process in Topeka; and that leads him to propose future change for the way Kansas government works(Play Audio)
Brenner says the changes made during the redistricting process could prove to be a disadvantage for local residents(Play Audio)
LeDoux, formerly the appointed House Representative for the 50th district, has also complained about the changes, posting a message on his Facebook wall, sarcastically thanking the three federal judges who made the final decision. LeDoux says the change means the 61st District now includes
57% of Jackson County as well as 43% of Pottawatomie County.
