( KNZA )-- A renovation project is planned at the Brown County Historical Society’s museum in downtown Hiawatha.
Historical Society Director Eric Oldham provided Brown County Commissioners today ( Monday ) with an update on the project at the historic Hiawatha Memorial Auditorium building...( play audio )
Oldham says five A-C units will be installed on the top of the building.
Oldham says the project will allow the building to be used year around....( play audio)
The Hiawatha Area Arts and Theatre Society also use the building for productions.
Also as part of the renovation work Oldham says the alley on the east side of the building will be redone in order to divert water away from the building and the coal bin will be filled in, which has been a source of water coming into the building.
Oldham says the project will begin early next month and take about 12 weeks to complete.
AHRS Construction of Bern is the general contractor on the project.
