Boil Advisory For Areas of Horton
10/10/2012

(KNZA)--Capital improvement work to the City of Horton's water distribution lines is now complete, with the effort wrapped up shortly before noon Wednesday.

During that project, water service was shut down for customers in the northwest area of the city, north of 15th street and west of Central Avenue.

Because of that, all water to be consumed, in the affected area, must now be boiled as a preventive measure against any possible contamination that might have entered the lines during the reduced water pressure.

During the boil advisory, citizens are encouraged to boil water vigorously for one minute prior to using it for any drinking, or food use.

Customers should do so until further notice, with the City, at the earliest, to receive test results of the water late Thursday.

Once the all clear is given, we'll tell you right here on this radio station.
